Title: Chief Information Officer
Greg joined the City of Vallejo in 2007 as the IT Manager for the Vallejo Police Department. He became the City’s Chief Information Officer in 2013 where he led the reorganization of the IT Division to combine all IT resources under one head of Information Technology. Greg has worked to implement and maintain secure, reliable, and customer-oriented information technology solutions for city employees and the citizens of Vallejo. He spearheaded the upgrade and documentation of all core and edge network infrastructure, and oversaw a Public Private Partnership to leverage city owned fiber networks to provide Internet bandwidth to local schools, hospitals, and businesses.
Prior to working in local government, Greg was a captain in the military and responsible for network operations, life-cycle planning, and security of base computers systems at Travis Air Force Base. He also worked in Europe as a NATO Software Training Manager and as a Crew Commander at the Network Operations Security Center at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Greg has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego and a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University. He is a licensed aircraft pilot and enjoys working on cars, spending time with family, and traveling in his free time.
