Title: Chief Information Officer
Liana Bailey-Crimmins joined CalPERS as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) in August 2013.
In addition to providing executive direction and oversight to the six divisions of ITSB, Ms. Bailey-Crimmins supervises management of my|CalPERS and other CalPERS technology systems. She leads a large and diverse cross-functional organization to meet CalPERS business needs through innovative solutions. Ms. Bailey-Crimmins is responsible for setting the IT strategic direction in alignment with CalPERS goals, recommending IT policy for CalPERS programs, and providing consultation and advice to CalPERS Board of Administration and executive staff.
Ms. Bailey-Crimmins has over 25 years of public sector technology experience and previously served as the information technology director and CIO of California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS). During her tenure she set up technology programs, established project management goals, developed policies/operational procedures and ensured that technology solutions met constitutional health objectives. Prior to that, Ms. Bailey-Crimmins worked as the project director of the California Information Technology Infrastructure Project.
Ms. Bailey-Crimmins studied computer science at California State University, Sacramento and is an Information Technology Managers Academy graduate. Her work on the CCHCS Telemedicine Program helped the organization win the 2012 Computerworld Honors Program Laureate and she was also recognized by the 2011 Best of California awards in the Government Technology Digital Internal category.
She is a member of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers as well as the Technology Executive Network Group and Northern California Computer Measurement Group.
