Title: Sr. Director Systems Engineering
David is an expert in his field who finds passion in helping customers unlock the potential of data for strategic value and use, while also successfully managing volumes of data in an ever changing world.
Born to parents who were teachers, David grew up living just outside of Chicago in Indiana. His father taught blue collar steel workers to be managers. His mother, a Dean of Education at a local high school, taught English and bible studies. David’s parents fostered a great environment to learn. They stressed the importance to understand, connect with, and learn how to help and motivate people through education. In his youth David convinced his parents to get him a computer (after learning he did not need braces). While a profoundly expensive investment at the time, this was a pivotal moment where the IT engineer was born. David went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. He then started a software company with his brother focused on emergency room documentation in New Orleans. After the software launched, David quickly moved into consulting. He met his wife during this time and moved back to the Chicagoland area. After 20 years in IT consulting and two exhilarating boys later, he briefly describes his career:
“ IT has afforded me the opportunity to serve as a presales engineer, channel manager, account executive, sales manager, and finally to my current role with Commvault Inc. as Senior Director of Systems Engineering for Western North America. Between the creativity and passion of IT professionals, and the continued evolution of technology with the positive impact it has on our world, I continue to be inspired every day.”
