David Bychkov, PhD is a wearable device designer and medical research consultant. From 1999-2005, David served as director of the Laboratory of Psychophysiology and Professor of Holographic Cinema at Universita' dell'Immagine in Milan, Italy. From 2003-2012, David developed and launched a series of smartwatch products including: the Empath, Exmobaby and the Alfred biosensor steering wheel. His customers included AT&T, Rogers, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Desay Automotive, Samsung, Hyundai, NASA and others. He received his BA in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Chicago, and went on to complete his graduate studies in Media and Communications at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee. In 2015, David's book, "The Placebo Life Technique," was published by Atropos Press in New York. In 2016, he completed his postdoctoral training for the inHealth Initiative's Measurement Corps at Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves as a research consultant and adjunct professor at the New School, Beijing Institute of Technology and the University of Science and Technology Beijing.
